This breed is very intelligent and is reported to learn a new task in 2 to 5 repetitions. To achieve good results, the owner should be knowledgeable and experienced with this breed and have much time to spend with the pet. Leaving a puppy alone for a long time is inadmissible, if one wants to have an obedient and well-behaved pet. If training sessions are not boring, but interesting and challenging, a puppy will love them and the results will be impressive.

The coat of the dog is typically double. It has an inner and outer coat. A slightly wavy outer coat, often of wiry texture, is permissible. There are various colors that the dog may come in; white color is not accepted if the dog participates in the ring. The head, including the inner ear and foreface, and the legs and paws are covered with short hair, and the neck is covered with longer and thicker hair. The rear of the forelegs and hind legs has somewhat longer hair extending to the pastern and hock, respectively.
